This campaign was special. Finally honoring a community that had been overlooked in Arizona sports. Honoring the 22 tribes of Arizona, a community with a long and historic connection to the game of basketball, created a joyous celebration of the game. Collaborating on jersey designs directly with the tribes and developing a rich and purposeful creative campaign with local indigenous design agency, Cahokia, was a highlight of the experience.
In our collaboration, we learned how important each tribe’s language is to their history and their future. The word for SUN is incorporated into the side panels of the uniform to honor and memorialize the language of each tribe.
